WADA Confirms Resolution of SAIDS Non-Compliance Issue

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed that the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) has successfully addressed the critical corrective action related to its legislation to resolve its non-compliance with the 2021 version of World Anti-Doping Code (WADC).

The Chair of the Compliance Review Committee (CRC), Henry Gourdji, confirmed in his report to the WADA Executive Committee (ExCo) and Board that the necessary corrective measures have been implemented by SAIDS. WADA had referred the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in November 2023, but having received confirmation that the SAIDS Act 33 of 2024 is compliant with the WADC, WADA is satisfied that the required outstanding action had been addressed.

WADA has therefore withdrawn its claim regarding the alleged non-compliance of SAIDS.
