The SA Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) imposed the following sanctions during the period of December 2019 to February 2020:
- A twenty (20) month ban from all sport on the International Federation Bodybuilding South Africa (IFBBSA) athlete, Khulekani Mkize, following an anti-doping rule violation. Mr. Mkize tested positive for the presence of Furosemide and Tamoxifen. His period of ineligibility began on 23 October 2019 (from the date he was notified of his suspension) and will serve until and including 23 June 2021.
- A three (3) year, nine (9) month sanction from all sport on the IFBBSA athlete, Stefan Marias, following an anti-doping rule violation. Mr. Marais evaded test mission on the 14 September 2019. His period of ineligibility began on 23 October 2019 (from the date he was notified of his suspension) and will serve until and including 22 July 2023.
- A four (4) year sanction from all sport on the IFBBSA athlete, Lyle Singh, following an anti-doping rule violation. Mr. Singh tested positive for the presence of Oxandrolone, Stanozolol, Triamterene, Hydrochlorothiazide, Tamoxifen, Boldenone, Fluoxymesterone, Drostanolone, Mestanolone, Mesterolone, Metenolone. His period of ineligibility began on 14 September 2019 (from the date of sample collection) and will serve until and including 14 September 2023.
- A four (4) year sanction from all sport on the IFBBSA athlete, Unathi Tshezi, following an anti-doping rule violation. Mr. Tshezi tested positive for the presence of Stanozolol; Furosemide; Clenbuterol; Fluoxymesterone; Mesterolone; Oxandrolone. His period of ineligibility began on 15 September 2019 (from the date of sample collection) and will serve until and including 15 September 2023.
- A four (4) year sanction from all sport on the IFBBSA athlete, Glenn Molobela, following an anti-doping rule violation. Mr. Molobela tested positive for the presence of 19-Norandrosterone; 19-Noretiocholanolone; Boldenone; Androstenedione; 1-Androstenedione; Drostonolone M1; Drostonolone M2. His period of ineligibility began on 4 November 2019 (from the date of sample collection) and will serve until and including 4 November 2023.
- A four (4) year sanction from all sport on the IFBBSA athlete, Tshepiso Masilo, following an anti-doping rule violation. Mr. Masilo tested positive for the presence of Stanozolol; Furosemide; 19-Norandrosterone; 19-Noretiocholanolone. His period of ineligibility began on 15 September 2019 (from the date of sample collection) and will serve until and including 15 September 2023.
- A four (4) year sanction from all sport on the IFBBSA athlete, Anne Marie Barnard, following an anti-doping rule violation. Ms. Barnard tested positive for the presence of Stanozolol; Drostanolone and Clenbuterol. Her period of ineligibility began on 23 November 2019 (from the date of sample collection) and will serve until and including 23 November 2023.
- A four (4) year sanction from all sport on the IFBBSA athlete, Shanti Mitchell, following an anti-doping rule violation. Mr. Mitchell tested positive for the presence of Stanozolol; Drostanolone; Trenbolone and Clomifene. His period of ineligibility began on 27 November 2019 (from the date of sample collection) and will serve until and including 27 November 2023.
- A four (4) year sanction from all sport on the IFBBSA athlete, Veronique Wyngaard, following an anti-doping rule violation. Ms. Wyngaard tested positive for the presence of Stanozolol, Furosemide, Methylhexaneamine, Clenbuterol, Mesterolone, Metenolone, Oxandrolone, Letrozole, Sibutramine. Her period of ineligibility began on 4 November 2019 (from the date of notification) and will serve until and including 4 November 2023.
- A three (3) year nine (9) month sanction from all sport on the Athletics South Africa (ASA) athlete, Melissa Jansen van Vuuren, following an anti-doping rule violation. Ms. Jansen van Vuuren tested positive for the presence of Phentermine. Her period of ineligibility began on 27 May 2019 (from the date of notification) and will serve until and including 27 February 2023.
