NEW Prohibited List coming into effect 1st January 2022

It is that time of the year again when all Athletes and Athlete Support Personnel (Coaches, Medical Professionals, Parents, National Federations etc.) need to start familiarising themselves with the changes made to the new WADA International Standard for the Prohibited List that will come into effect 1st January 2022.  This is a process that happens on an annual basis.

Athletes are reminded to check ALL medications they are currently using and/or intend using in future – in some cases something that may have been permitted in the current year, may be Prohibited in the following year.

To help everyone understand which changes have been applied, take a look at the Summary of Changes to the Prohibited List 2022.  The full Prohibited List 2022, as well as the Substances on WADAs Monitoring List are also available from our Home page, Education Library and various pages on our website.

Visit the “Medication Check” page where you will find the SAIDS Medication check Tool and App to assist you with checking the status of registered medications available on the SA market.
